Coleg y Cymoedd (formerly known as Coleg Morgannwg)

This new Further Education campus creates a greater breadth of post-16 education opportunities for 3,000 students to maximise their learning opportunities.

Welsh Government supported this project by providing £33 million towards a total cost of £39.6 million. £6.6 million was also provided from European funds.

This project demonstrates that capital investment is not simply about providing a new building – it’s about ensuring that education provision is fit for purpose and that it provides a learning environment free of barriers which engage and inspire learners, staff and the wider community.

The new campus provides a comprehensive programme of full-time vocational courses in care and childhood studies, creative industries, business, information technology, sport, hair, beauty and holistic therapy, hospitality and catering, technology construction, engineering and electronics. The facilities on-site means that local businesses are able to see the students ‘in practice’ and are able to easily assess their future potential.
